Interviews

Malcolm Gerrie

Malcolm Gerrie is one of the biggest names in UK music broadcasting. He was the executive producer of Channel 4’s The Tube, on which Paul McCartney appeared on many occasions in the 1980s. As the book begins with an examination of McCartney’s live work in the 1980s, Gerrie describes working with McCartney on The Tube and gives many fascinating insights into the UK music business.

Jonathon Porritt

Jonathon Porritt is without doubt, Britain’s most famous environmentalist. In 1989, he offered a four-page interview for the world tour programme. In 2022, he agreed to be interviewed again. I ask Porritt if, 33 years later, McCartney has achieved his mission to clean up the planet
